Why We Built This Site
Louisiana gives the public broad access to many records under La. R.S. 44:1, 44:31, and 44:32, while La. R.S. 44:3 and state confidentiality laws limit some law-enforcement, juvenile, adoption, and sealed or expunged materials. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. The Vermilion Parish Clerk of Court handles district court civil, felony, probate/succession, family, divorce, traffic, marriage, and recorded records from the courthouse in Abbeville. The Sheriff manages jail, booking, incident, crash, and some warrant-related records.
